Microsoft Network in 1997
Building an international access site for a corporation is no small task. Especially in the early days of the internet when the basic HTML rules were being forged in tandem with the content. Even the tools were new. Bellow, is an example of the "Essential" page of MSN.com which had embedded "FutureSlash" elements.

Future Splash was and independent title created by a small company in the Midwest. MSN.com depended heavily on it's browser plug-in. The designers at Microsoft tried to convince corporate to purchase the program, but Microsoft was busy instead working on their own version. Within months Macromedia bought the title, and repackaged it as "Flash" which featured the MSN page above on the back of the box. The boxed software also sported a stick that stated "As Seen on MSN."
